1. WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE YOUR PREVIOUS LIFESTYLE AND START THE ROAD TO FITNESS AND WEIGHT LOSS? WHAT WERE THE FIRST STEPS YOU TOOK TOWARDS A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE?
What made me decide to start my journey was me always feeling uncomfortable with myself, feeling lazy and never wanting to do anything besides relax. The first steps I took were dropping soda and eating fast food (cold turkey).
2. HOW HAS YOUR DIET AND FITNESS REGIME CHANGED FROM WHEN YOU BEGAN YOUR JOURNEY TO NOW?
My diet in the beginning wasn’t very exciting; I was very picky so I turned to shakes instead of food because I didn’t like healthy food. During the first three months, I drank two Herbalife shakes a day and one meal with a few healthy snacks between each meal. During the following five months, I drank one shake a day and two meals with healthy snacks in between. Eventually after eight months of Herbalife, I stopped drinking these
shakes and started to explore different foods such as a variety of veggies and flavourful ways to cook them.
3. EXERCISE VS. DIET. WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR WEIGHT LOSS?
In my opinion, exercise and diet are both very important for weight loss. Without a healthy food diet, you aren’t getting the nutrition you need for your body to do it’s thing and to fuel your daily activities. This is why when you do eat a healthy balanced diet and include regular exercise with it, it speeds up the process.
4. DO YOU BELIEVE IN CHEAT DAYS?
Yes, I do believe in cheat days. You don’t want your body getting used to eating healthy every day. When you’re on a diet and fat loss is the goal, the average intake of carbohydrates and calories tends to be low and over time, your body realises it is taking in fewer calories than it is burning. This results in a drop of metabolism, leading to a weight loss plateau. By incorporating a cheat day, you can somewhat avoid plateaus, and trick your body every once in a while. I believe a cheat day is good once a week!
5. WHAT ROLE DID SOCIAL MEDIA PLAY DURING THIS JOURNEY?
Social media played a huge part in my journey. Everyone who has supported me on my journey through social media has motivated me everyday. It just makes me want to show people that losing weight truly is possible with diet and exercise and that you don’t need to take any special pills or have a weight loss surgery to lose weight, but hey, I am not against it whasoever.
6. ANY FURTHER COMMENTS?
When things get hard and you feel like nothing is changing, don’t give up. You will only reach your goals if your consistency doesn’t stop!
